About this event

Since 2020, the ESRC PrOPEL Hub project – a collaboration led by Strathclyde Business School with eight universities and the CIPD – has promoted effective HR and workplace practices for engagement, wellbeing and productivity. A key aim of the partnership is to bring together workplace researchers with HR stakeholders and people managers to turn knowledge into practice. We are committed to ensuring that people managers have access to cutting-edge, robust and actionable research and intelligence; and that the research community can learn from frontline managers about ‘what’s needed’ in HR research.

That’s why we hosted a first interactive event at Strathclyde Business School in September 2022 entitled: “Towards a Sustainable Practice Action Research Community (SPARC) for evidence-based HRM”. which brought together more than forty HR professionals, people managers and researchers to share ideas and identify areas for collaboration.

Our second ‘SPARC’ event will take place at Strathclyde Business School, Glasgow from 13:00 on Wednesday 18 January 2023. The event will involve two short mini-keynotes from leading HR practitioners and researchers, followed by a networking discussion led by HR leaders on “Key issues for evidence-based HRM”.

If you are an HR practitioner interested in accessing the best evidence to inform your practice or a researcher with insights to share, and if you want to network with other people managers and researchers committed to exploring and solving key HR challenges, join us for lunch and an afternoon of practice-sharing.

If you could not participate in our previous SPARC event, you can find the slide pack for the presentations HERE
