In recent years the role of the Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP) has become increasingly prevalent in organisations. However, there continues to be some confusion about what the role really involves. Are they truly strategic partners to line and functional managers; or do they find themselves having to operate on a more operational level with fewer chances of truly contributing strategically? How will the Covid pandemic impact this?
At our upcoming Masterclass, chaired by Dr Martin McCracken, we will explore these issues.
Martin will be joined by Professor Anne Keegan, Professor of Human Resource Management at University College Dublin, who will provide insights on her research into the crucial role of HRBPs in managing HR paradoxes arising from strategy and operational priorities. Her research shows the importance of HRBPs developing innovative and dynamic approaches to the tensions in HR strategies in order to successfully navigate through them. This kind of paradox navigation is even more crucial given the current crisis. Professor Keegan will highlight some of the challenges which affect the successful delivery of the HRBP role as paradox navigator and how your organisation can mitigate these.
Our other key note speaker will be Paula Leatham, Senior HR Business Partner at Northern Ireland Electricity Networks who will share lessons from NIEN’s experience of operating the HRBP model for over 15 years. Paula will also discuss the key issues which HRBPs are facing in light of the current pandemic.
