In this 3-minute video, Professor Kevin Daniels outlines the features of good quality work, such as security of employment, safe working conditions, reasonable and clearly defined work demands, some variety and autonomy in the work, supportive managers and good feedback. He then offers both good and bad news from the British Skills and Employment survey on how many workers in the UK gain the wellbeing and work-life balance benefits of high-quality jobs.

This presentation was part of a series produced by the Work, Learning and Wellbeing Evidence Programme – a collaboration between the Universities of East Anglia, Sheffield, Reading and Essex. The research team is a partner of the What Works Centre for Wellbeing.
